Does this affect Joomla? GNU glibc Vulnerability 2/17/2016

Post by Judy at HESC » Tue Feb 23, 2016 8:58 pm

My company is currently running several Joomla 2.5 and 3.x websites on Linux servers.

Does this recently announced GNU glibc Vulnerability have any possible impact on Joomla websites?

The glibc is used by a lot of applications. Joomla do not use it directly, but if you have installed a DNS or other Linux application than it is very likely that this glibc is on our system and it is in use.

Check on you Linux system with a Package management tool if you have installed it, and if so update it.
