BUG - changing Created by article author

Hi guys,
last joomla 3.6.5 and PHP 5.6.x

I write an article and set the "Created by" article author. Save it. All is OK.
Now, I need to change the article author, so:
- I edit the article
- select the "Created by" filed
- the pop-up window search is opened
- search and look for a new user
- select on a new user
- but when I click on the new user the pop-up window is closed and nothing happen.

I have to repeat that a second time and the user is finally changed and I can save it.
Be careful, the last user search is always prefilled, so in the case I need the same new user for another article, when I select the "Created by" filed the new user into the pop-up window is prefilled. In this case the window is closed and the user is changed correctly.

I assume it is a bug, please, Can you confirm ?

I just tested the same scenario in my Joomla 3.6.5 installation. The "Created By" text field isn't updated with the text of the author if I do a search in the popup and select an author afterwards.

I can confirm. This seems to be a bug.

I have the same experience. It happens with the first use of the User selector in a given admin session. Select user once, nothing happens; select user a second time, field is populated as expected. From this point on, the User selector works as expected during the session. Log out and log back in, same initial error.

Joomla 3.6.5 and Joomla 3.6.4, Chrome 55.0.2883.95 and Safari 10.0.2, PHP 5.6.x
