Why support for SQL Server dropped?

Why support for SQL Server dropped?

Anybody know why support for SQL Server is going to be dropped in Joomla 4.0?

Because there is not enough people to support this database driver.

Often, J3 does not work correctly on MS SQL Server, but no one has sent an issue or tested the proposed solutions.

Each change (proposed PR at https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pulls) should be tested by at least two people. Changes related to sql queries should be tested on three types of database database.
Testers usually do not test it on MS SQL Server and rarely on PostgreSQL.

The number of users using SQL Server is very small and almost no one supports the joomla in this topic.

As an example, several proposed PRs are still waiting for tests:
