Cassiopeia template live demo?

Post by sozzled » Sun Nov 29, 2020 7:46 pm

Spent the last hour searching Google with keywords "Joomla 4 Cassiopeia demo" (and variants) in attempt to see a "vanilla flavour" J! 4 website on the internet. I guess, just like me (who is only testing J! 4 in a localhost environment) not many people have put something out there. As much as I'm tempted to throw together a test site of my own and put it on a real web server (just for the purpose of saying, "yeah, I've built a J! 4 website on the Internet") it's a distraction from what I'm doing at the moment.

More of an observation than anything else: lots of talk about J! 4 (esp. lots of screenshots of J! 4 websites); can't say I've seen much evidence of J! 4 in actual use anywhere. :pop

It's not "actual use" by a long shot, just installed it to have a look and mess around when I have time. But it is online, if you want to see Cassiopeia live. Grid all the way. If nothing else, you will learn what a spotted quoll looks like :). devspace.jaydot.nl .

Thanks @jaydot. I wanted to run an accessibility test on a J! 4 website (even, in spite of @brian's disapproval or unawareness of the purpose, if the website is not in actual production usage). I agree with @brian that J! 4 is not yet ready for "actual" usage yet. FYI, Cassiopeia scored 92% (the same as for J! 3's Protostar and Beez3) according to https://www.webaccessibility.com; it's nice to know.

Yes, I know what a spotted quoll is (where do you think I live? :laugh: ) but they're rarely "spotted" (in the sense of being seen, that is) except at night. ;)

As the Cassiopeia template has had an extensive rewrite that is still being tested before being merged unfortunately your tests were virtually meaningless.

Hi
I am having some css fun to try and get what I have in Joomla 3.
I want a Site Title [now brand-logo], and a site-description and have a horizontal menu at navbar.
I also need a small image.

so setup a user css as follows:

the image to the left - works fine
.container-header {
background-image: url("../images/crf-logo.jpg");
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-color: #ADD8E6;
background-position: left 20px top 20px; !important;
}

make the site description a bit larger - works fine
.site-description {
font-size: 22px !important;
line-height: 200% !important;
}

how to move things out of the way.
.brand-logo, .site-description, .navbar {
padding-left: 100x; !important;
}

FAILURE - I get an "Invalid Property Value" when inspecting .... so just how do I move things across.
tried this ..
.navbar-brand {
padding-left: 200x; !important;
}
It knocks the picture out !

Any bright ideas ???

Test site [one of eight] at http://tdocplus.co.uk/3a_CRF3924/ - a small simple site.

Apologies

Fixed one thing ... had 100x oops 100px. So the words are across.
But still a problem with shifting the menu across.

Cracked it ...

/* more to this than one thinks ! */
.container-header .mod-menu {
padding-left: 115px; !important;
}
