No translation Polish language
Does anyone know if the Polish language translation of Joomla 4 is ready? If there is no Polish translation, which files should be translated to make everything in this language? Is it possible to automatically translate with a translator? Do you have to do each translation manually?

Re: No translation Polish language
Get the J3 Polish language pack from here: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... .0.0v1.zip
In Joomla 4 go to System Install Extensions (note - not Languages) and install by Upload Package File. You will get some error messages but it will install. Logout and select Polish from the language list in the Login form. Login and you will see a mixture of Polish and English. The English strings are new in Joomla 4. If you want to translate them you can create a local override.

Will both frontend and backend be translated in this way?

- Joomlacode is officially dead; and
- J! 3.x language packs are virtually useless in J! 4. Some one thousand strings have been changed—additions and deletions—so there's a lot of work needed to go through the list. It would be probably be just as easy to start with the J! 4 language file and translate that from scratch.

Re: No translation Polish language
There is a newer Polish version at this link. There is not much local override left from what I am looking at.

It works nice for me.

Re: No translation Polish language
I gave the wrong end of the language pack range. Try this one:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... .9.6v1.zip
Installs without errors. Joomlacode may be dead but that is where the language packs are coming from. There may be a lot of strings to translate for Joomla 4 but the Polish reader will get an idea of what to expect.

Re: No translation Polish language
The most important thing for me is that I installed the language pack manually and a lot is translated. The rest can be gradually translated as needed.

Re: No translation Polish language
Does the language installation use the same mechanism as extension installation? https://www.akeeba.com/news/1746-workin ... dater.html
Why are some J3 translations being pointed to from inside J3t is a language issue when installing a J3 language pack in J4

Thanks for the Akeeba news link webdongle. I took the time to read it all, quite an exposer on the current state of joomla's development.

Re: No translation Polish language
I wish to correct some misinformation I posted earlier:
According to Bye Bye JoomlaCode! dated 9 February, the plan for removing JoomlaCode will be gradually phased-in over the next few months:
I'm not sure which department is responsible for "reaching out to Translations Teams"—I'm guessing it's the Production Department—because I haven't seen any reports about progress with the transition process. Perhaps someone can tell us what's happening in that area, too?
The position of a contributor for the Polish translation for J! is currently vacant. Therefore, to address the original question:
That is not quite correct.
According to Bye Bye JoomlaCode! dated 9 February, the plan for removing JoomlaCode will be gradually phased-in over the next few months:
There has been no news about the porting J! translations to the downloads website—because work appears to have stopped on developing the component that will manage these things—but I wanted to clear up any confusion that my earlier post may have caused.
- All projects within JoomlaCode will be removed one by one, to the point where only the CMS Translations projects are left.
- We will be reaching out to Translations Teams to onboard them onto the new Downloads Platform (but for now ... keep uploading your packs to JoomlaCode!)
- The language packs and related information will be imported to the new location on the download website and removed from JoomlaCode.
- The JoomlaCode system will be completely removed and the domain name gets redirected.

the answer would appear to be no.
