launch.joomla.com has some issues

Post by shoulders » Thu Feb 22, 2024 10:40 am

Hi

I tried to create a Joomla Website with launch.joomla.com and hadad the 2 following issues
  • The create form allows you top proceed with an empty password and then fails the process but does not tell you why
  • After the wizard is complete I am logged into a cloudaccess.net account with no joomla website. It should be made clear you have to wait a couple of minutes before it appears. it is not instant.
  • Make it clearer that you are making a cloudaccess.net account

You can always try Joomla locally on your pc. https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/ will create a localhost on your PC/Laptop

  • Make it clearer that you are making a cloudaccess.net account
The landing page at https://joomla.com or https://launch.joomla.org mentions cloudaccess.net three times and the footer of the page has this banner:
CloudAccess.net.png
True, the registration form 'Create an account' could be clearer. It starts with the link Sign in here that points to launch.joomla.org, but both the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links refer to cloudaccess.net.

I think the logo should be in the form when you enter your details to create an account or login. it makes more sense to have it here.

@shoulders
Perhaps show the whole page (which supports @toivo's post)

@webdongle

clipping the links of the bottom was not intentional nor relevant.

I am making my points not tovio's :) . Having them links at the bottom makes no difference to visibility of cloudaccess.net account creation.

I think you will be surprised how many people read the T&Cs, Privacy policies when signing up for something.

...
They are relevant as they prove @tovio's point.

And I am pointing out @tovio's points contradict yours and how you only show part of the pictute.

Trying to read my mind of what I think? hmmm if I had a crystal ball I would sit down very carefully.
