Do you mean you were unable to login to the back end of your new site? Or do you mean the Cloud Control Panel (CCP)?

Why is it the only post relating to this problem (MY PROBLEM, TOO!) has ZERO offers of solutions?

@GadgetmanRon, please read the forum rules and do not hijack someone else's topic!

The reason no suggestions could be offered was the lack of information given by the Original Poster. If you create your own topic and provide adequate information, you may receive more responses.

I have the same issue this morning. Trying to log into the backend /administrator to perform an upgrade from the link the site sends out. I've tried on multiple browsers just in case it was something weird, but same result.

Did you see the message "Unable to connect to authentication service", too? That message can come up only if you have enabled the plugin 'Authentication - LDAP' manually to connect to an LDAP server but the connection fails. This plugin is not enabled automatically.

This is all I see - I have another Joomla install on the same physical server that is operating fine, so it is specific to this install. Must be at least 3 months since last attempt to access which was successful at the time.
Had a look in extensions in phpadmin and the plg_authentication_joomla is enabled. Complete novice so not sure where to look next.

Disable plg_authentication_ldap and you will not see that message again.

The message 'Unable to connect to authentication service' is displayed only after the authentication using plg_authentication_joomla, in other words, the normal authentication from the local users table, has failed.

Beginning to think someone hacked me! I disabled as you said and sure enough I don't see that message but it says the username password is wrong. tried to resend the username (I know I can't get the password on a superuser) and it says user does not exist. Having had the same email address for 25 years I'm pretty sure it's not just me going mad - this site has been live and working for around 3 years until now.
Any ideas? I don't have a site backup locally, I'll try to check online and see when I last did one, but not feeling too hopeful at present.

Please forget that - for some reason using postmaster@mydomain - don't ever remember setting that up.

Thanks for your help - I'm in!!!

Not sure where that ldap thing came from? Maybe the last update as I don’t think I’ve needed to log back in since then. Thanks again
