Free Joomla Site Problem

Several tries to get a free Joomla site for a learning exercise have failed. The activation email never shows up. I'm using GMail and I've checked Trash and Spam. Nothing.
Can anyone help?

The service at launch.joomla.org, a.k.a. joomla.com, is hosted by an independent hosting provider, CloudAccess.net. Please use their contact form and report the issue.

It is official to the extent it is a free service for hosting a Joomla site.

The service is provided by a third party commercial webhost and therefore are responsible for tech support requests concerning their service; the volunteers on this forum have no capacity to assist with such issues.

You could run a virtual host on your computer and download the latest full package. Wamp for windows and Map for mac are frequently used for virtual Hosts.
