FPA has a threat according to Windows

Post by gizepi64 » Wed Nov 20, 2019 8:18 pm

To the moderator.

1. Your FPA has a threat according to Windows. Why would I use it?
2. if there were moderators moderating joomla itself then maybe it would be less complicated.
3. Ive read the biginners guide a number of times, it still does not explain how to fix my issue.
4. Clearly this system is not intended to help anyone but those who are already well versed in joomla.

Reason: Split the post from the topic https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=706&t=975868 and moved to the forum FPA

I understand your concerns about Windows 10 and Windows Defender Smartscreen. This matter is discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=806&t=974477

Joomla is an open source project; there are no "moderators" moderating the project. The project relies on volunteers who contribute their time to develop the software. I do not understand this comment.

What "system" are you referring to?

With the recent releases of FPA v 1.6.x, I have not personally encountered the problems downloading the .zip file using Windows 10 and Windows Defender Smartscreen. I have kept Windows Defender Smartscreen enabled only for the purposes of testing whether this interferes with downloading the FPA .zip file.

I should like to know if other users of Windows 10 and Windows Defender Smartscreen continue to experience the issues discussed in this forum topic and whether the "pink area" notice is still relevant?

Thanks.

Updated: It appears this issue still exists for people who use MS Edge on Windows 10 with Windows Defender Smartscreen enabled. When I tested, I had no problems using Firefox (and other browsers may not be a problem as well).
