Joomla 4 upgrade from rc to final version

Post by katim110 » Thu Jul 22, 2021 10:12 am

I want to set up a new website with joomla 4. Can I use rc version now and update to final version later when it comes out? I don't want to put the website online until I've updated to the final version.

thank you.

@Webdongle Why do you say that? It is officially supported to update an RC to the next RC and then at the end to final, and it is safe and we have tested it. The only thing one should not do is run development (alpha beta rc) version on a production site life in the web. But nothing speaks against preparing a new 4.0 site already now with the new RC.
