How to use Created Date at the frontend?

Post by woodyf4u » Sat Oct 01, 2022 1:22 pm

I work with Joomla 4.2.3 and use Created Date for the order of the articles.
In the backend I can use this field, but in the frontend this field is not present.
Is there a possibility that I can add Created Date to article management in the frontend?

The Blog and List Menu items have an Article Order field from which you can select one of many different order methods. Is that what you mean?

If you wish to display the created date on your articles, see the documentation: https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... og#Options

Set Show Create Date = Show

No sorry, I wasn't clear in my question.
I have already set the order in which the articles are displayed in the menu item. That works well.
ZI don't want to show the Created Date in an article.

What I want is that a frontend user with the correct rights can adjust the Created Date when creating an article.
Just like you can in the backend.

When editing an article in the frontend, I miss the sheet to fill in the Created Date itself.
Do I have to add that with an override or is there a simpler option?

And if it has to be an override, who can help me set up the override properly?

There is no facility to change the created date when submitting a new article via the frontend. I just tried it with J! 4.2.3. There was no facility to do this in J! 3.x as well; I tried it with J! 3.10.11.

Thanks for supporting.
Of course I had already checked that out in J3 and J4.
It would be nice if it is possible to have Created Date as set in the backend also available as a setting in the frontend.
I know it's not a standard functionality in the frontend.
But would it be possible to make that available in some way?
