Legal questions

Post by Rich3art » Thu Nov 24, 2022 11:09 am

I stumbled upon Joomla but I noticed its registered under GPL license.

What does that mean for me as a website developer?

Am I allowed to create a website with Joomla, host it on my own server and either sell it commercially or use as my own and still brand it under my own company, for example Ravensoft instead of Joomla?

I'm planning on developing my own website and add the plugin extensions I saw into Joomla and also do the same for a client but charge him for it.

Do I need to distribute any source code or the license with the "SALE" I'm planning to charge my client for?

I hate these legal things.

Kind Regards,

You are charging for your work not joomla, some extensions are paid for so you have the right to use them for your site. Some extensions are sold for a single domain only so you will need to repurchase them for more than one domain.
