no email received

Hi all
I have just install J4 on my ovh server. all is ok template and cms are working. :D
but when I want to test the mail using Global Configuration/SERVER/Mail/ send test Mail
(Mailer PHP mail)
it says "The email was sent to [email protected] using PHP Mail. You should check that you've received the test email."

The problem is that I dont receive any email from the website. :'(

informations from OVH:
MYSQL v.5.7 for the MYSQLi
Version PHP globale 8.2

I really need your help guys ;)

Hi Per Yngve,

thank you for your precious link,

So, I have created a name and google gave me an automatic password (perfect!)

here are the problems:
when I try with

smtp port 465
SMTP Security: SSL/TLS
error:"SMTP Error: Could not authenticate."

smtp port: 25
SMTP Security: STARTTLS
error:"An error has occurred while fetching the JSON data: HTTP 500 status code."

smtp port: 587
SMTP Security: STAR
error:"SMTP Error: Could not authenticate."

an example:

I dont understand because the mail in "FROM EMAIL" is from the gmail account where I have created the oassword for application.
and I did not enter the spaces into the SMTP password.

I probably do something wrong..but I dont know what .....

Use port 465

You have the wrong Username and Password

ok the Username is in reallity the Gmail and not the name you give to receive the password !!!!!!

Further to the above, as the tutorial mentions, if your Gmail account uses 2-step verification, which is always advisable, you need to use an Application-Specific Password in Joomla, instead of the password to normally access the mailbox.
