Frontend article edit opens wrong article Topic is solved

I have a single article, as far as I know, that when I click to edit it on the frontend opens the wrong article ( article id 160 instead of 166 ). It did not use to do this, but I notice it is happening on the same article in both my J3 and J4 sites. Production version of the site made from a copy of the J3 site years ago, edit opens the correct article.

The 2 articles have their own menu items. In the backend, editing the article linked to the menu item works correctly. I tried clearing and selecting the articles for each menu item - no difference. I tried the long form URL direct to the article and it still opens the wrong article to edit.

I looked at the rows for the articles in #__content and I do not see anything unexpected.

Ideas?

Update: I just noticed the problem now affects every menu item pointing to a single article. Only normal content articles still work in frontend edit.

Nevermind! I found a bug in my attempt to dynamically change the meta data was causing this problem.
