Joomla search not working Topic is solved

Hi All,

I hope I can get some advice if at all possible. Joomla search comes up with an error since I have updated to Joomla 4
(see screenshot) I get the same error page with some of the products on my page. In the past, when I had this issue, the cannonical URL was the culprit, but chaning this has no bearing on the outcome on the product page. If anyone has any idea what I could try to get this to work, I would be so grateful!

When migrating to J4 from J3.10, did the pre-check list any issues (actual or potential) with Hikashop?

The stack trace (your screenshot) indicates the problem is with Hika Shop, not Joomla. is HikaShop up to date, and works with J4? Last update according to the JEd is 27 July 2023, v4.7.5 however on the Hika website, the download (Hika Starter edition) is for v5.0.0 dated 27.09.2023.

Which version of HikaShop are you using - if a paid version, then you should be able to get support from them.

Hi there, thank you so much for your reply! I don't remember there being any warnings about potential issues with the upgrade (I did it when joomla 4 was first released), but then again, I have a memory like sieve! I am running the business edition of hikashop. It is up to date but the issue, unfortunately, persists. I have contacted them now. Hopefully they will be able to help me. Again, thanks for trying to help!

com_search does not exist in J4. You must use Smart Search (com_finder).

Thanks for that! I have now changed it to smart search. Much appreciated!
