No notification of available updates

A site of mine with Joomla 4.4.x doesn't report updates, either Joomla or extensions, yet I'm sure updates are available. Is there some hosting/php configuration that could be the cause?

Can you name one extension as an example you're expecting to see updates for?

Regardless of being able to get the auto-update notification, can you install any update through the normal install extension method, and for Joomla core, update via the Upload and Update method? (as that is your fall-back methods for updating).

Sorry for responding late but as often happens I did not get the notification of your comment.
I am not notified of updates from 4.4.8 to 4.4.9 (for example) nor of the extensions, none excluded (e.g. 4SEO, Engagebox, JCE, Regula Labs, RSForm...) while in other sites I manage they are all notified.
Yes, I use the Upload and Update method and it works.
I'm afraid it's some server or hosting setting that prevents them from receiving notifications of update availability.
