We have customers using smart phones to order online items say it is difficult and they end up just calling in their order. Can this be resolved?

An extension is something you add to Joomla for a specific function. In this case https://extensions.joomla.org/category/e-commerce/

A payment gateway is a card clearing online bank like PayPal or World pay etc. You can search the term it's not difficult https://bfy.tw/Raot

Are you using Joomla 4? (you posted to the J4 forum....)


From what I see VirtueMart is still only available for Joomla 3 (according to the extension directory listing), so you should be running Joomla 3.10.2 (or 3.9.28 as the last 3.9.x series release)

Even on a reduced-size browser window (not a real mobile) on a desktop PC, that looks bad.

Can you advise what Joomla version you're using, and what version of VirtueMart?

Also I can't identify what site template you're using. If you don't know those details please use the forum post assistant, as advised in the red box top of screen: https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/ as that will tell us what we need to know.


If you need alternate to VirtueMart, Phoca Cart (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/phoca-cart/) might be a possibility - I haven't used it myself, but use other of their extensions, good quality, and functional. I don't know how you'd go about migrating (transferring) products from one to the other.

The first thing to do is make sure VirtueMart is at its latest version, that Joomla is up to date, and you have a template that works satisfactorily on both desktop and mobile.

Hi. It's also not user friendly on Desktop. Unkempt, sometimes curve appearance - all this pushes the user.

You need two things:
Order UX design for your site from some professional web designer.
Hire a specialist or deny yourself (if you have skills) CSS coding to embody design in life.

Or buy ready-made Joomla template with Virtuemart template on board with ready-made design and layout.
