Is it possible to change the default home item in the menu? Topic is solved

Hi there, I'm new to Joomla and I've gotten myself into a problem with the home menu where it stays on both languages on my website. Is there any way that I can make the item change its text based on whatever language it is on?

Have you a menu for each language?

I usually keep the "main menu" but don't use it.
For each language I crate a new menu and add the menu items for that language.
For each menu I create a Menu Module that I assign to a language.
I hope that this makes sense.

Sorry, I don't have menu for each page but I put every menu items in the main menu and set all the items language to its specific language because I figured they wouldn't appear once I use the language switcher module. However, I will give your method a try. Thanks for responding!

Yes Peters solution is the only way you can get this to work and its a standard Joomla way to sort and coordinate menus to different langauges. Just understand the difference between menu and menu items also help on the way but that you have done as I understand

I have created a new module but how does one attach the module to the specific template with the language because I cannot find it anywhere.

Correction: I figured out it was the "Menu builder" tab but it seems that the menu builder is not working as I have tried to reload and the menu did not change. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Give us an url will help us see understand better. If you want optimal module flexibility control you can try to use install extra extension Advance Module Manager AMM ( regular labs)

If I recall the menu builder is where you are supposed to attach the menu you want. But it appears that this option doesn't work. I would like to add that I'm using Konstra template for this.

Update: I have found a fix for this problem. Apparently, if you move the "home default" item to the hidden menu you can do anything freely in with the main menu so I hope this helps those who are looking for help.

Your screenshot is not Core Joomla. You must be using an extension.
