How can I change the default language of my Joomla website to English?

Hello everyone,

I recently started a website using Joomla, but I noticed that the default language is set to something other than English. As an English speaker, I would like to change the default language to English so that visitors to my site can easily navigate and understand the content.

Can someone please guide me on how to change the default language of my Joomla website to English? I've looked through the documentation and forums, but I'm still a bit confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Welcome to Joomla forum!

In the back-end: System > Languages > select the dropdown Site / Administrator
Click in the "Default" column to select the default language:
