J4 smart search package

I've to reinstall the smart search package under J4 as I removed while investingating cause of error 'JEventDispatcher' after upgrade from 3.10 to 4.x
there is a way to get the updated package to be reinstalled ? seeked around but unluckly....

First what "smart search package" are you referring to? Joomla has search capability built in. If you need to reinstall the search, you'd reinstall Joomla. Second, did you check all your extensions work with Joomla 4? (Did Joomla 3.10 run the compatibility checker?)

I think the best thing you could do, is restore your site to 3.10 from your backup, and attempt the migration again.

The old com_search from Joomla 3 has been replaced in Joomla 4 by com_finder.
This isn't an entirely new extension because com_finder was available in Joomla 3: it was called "Smart Search".
The single search facility in Joomla 4 is in effect the old Smart Search from Joomla 3.

yes compat check was all green
i'm referring to the built-in new smart search
I've tried to "reinstall core" but it has not reinstalled
.. will restart site from 0, ok

If the files are present, do a Extension->Install->Discover and install what are found.

eh no them has been removed..
with j3 native packs was availables as externa pluging (some e.g. weblinks....)
wonder if for J4 is possible too (I've missed also a language filter plugin grrr)

ok i need to grab extension from anothe site, put them THEN discover. lemme try...
update (for language filter)
files are in place (plugins/system)
discover does not find them
(plugin has been uninstalled for mistake)
I guess is something related to db side

Reinstall the Joomla Core files and download Joomla 4.2.1 from the Joomla update site. Than Upload and update from Joomla Update Component. This will reinstall properly your files and folders.

Then go to Joomla Maintenance, Database and click "Update Structure" This might solve your issue
