Timeout on install 4.4.5

Post by MrDog » Wed May 29, 2024 4:25 am

Hi
My test site is accessed directly on my host and I installed 4.4.5 with no issues. My live site is accessed via CloudFlare (and I can't disable it) and it consistently times out. In the "good old days" I could upload the package via FTP and then install from that - but that seems to have vanished. Any ideas?

You could try to create a backup of the local website using Akeeba Backup,
upload the .jpa backup + Akeeba's kickstart.php to the server,
and restore it with kickstart?

Thanks - in theory that would work but it is a fairly dynamic site and backups and restores take a long time, so I would have to take it offline for too long.

Ok, I understand. In that case a workaround could be:
in Akeeba Backup only backup the database, and restore it at the server.
copy all files from your local computer to the server (on Linux you could use the "rsync" command),
and change the configuration.php with the server + database settings.

Thanks - that sounds like it would work and I will try sometime in the next few days.
