Please help with setting up email on Joomla on Synology NAS. It does not deliver mail either as php or sentmail or SMTP. Nothing goes through the global configuration

openssl is a php module - you will have to figure out yourself how to install it on your NAS. Google for advice. I found this: https://community.synology.com/enu/forum/1/post/124567

I don't understand your question titled "Extension missing: Openssl..." and what that has to do with setting up your NAS for sending email through Joomla (perhaps concerned with email encryption protocols such as TLS/SSL?).

To use SMTP you need to enable that capability through the web server you're running on the NAS, and/or to enable the PHP extensions for sendmail or PHPMail. Alternatively, you could use an external SMTP server with an email host provider or Gmail and so forth.
