Im having a prob installing jmla 4 on localhost Topic is solved

Hi, I keep on getting this bewildering message in the browser window when installing Joomla 4.0.2 on localhost, the error is:
Warning: file_get_contents(C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla4.local/templates/system/build_incomplete.html): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla4.local\includes\app.php on line 29
I am using XAMPP ON WIN 10.
I am installing afresh XAMPP and Joomla after, I foolishly, deleted all my sites and xampp when trying to update the PHP version.
I now have PHP 8.0.10
I have not had a problem installing a new copy of Joomla 3.10.1 (and I did not have a problem installing joomla 4 on the old XAMPP before I deleted it)
It would be a pleasure to receive your advice on this matter.

Try Wamp instead of xampp

I've had a "." in a local Joomla 4 site name before and it has not coursed a problem. In addition, I have a Joomla 3.10.1 installed in the same htdoc folder that is called Joomla3.10.local that works normally. Thanks for the thought, but no, I don't think that is the problem.

We, I have solved it, I am not sure how. I think it may have been something when wrong with the unzip. When through all the steps one more time (I tried umpteen times, sometimes...) and it worked. All's well that ends well.

Until xampp causes you more problems.
