Verification issue on admin homepage

Post by Raymi » Thu Sep 01, 2022 11:21 am

Hello everyone,
I updated 10 joomla 3.X sites to version 4.2.1 and everything is going well except for one.
The update went well except that the admin homepage bug.
It fails to check if there are substitutions, joomla updates and extensions.
It says "error during substitution check.", "unknown version of joomla...", "Unknown extension...", "Unknown request..."
Capture.PNG
I reinstalled my backup of version 3.X twice to redo the update and I still have the same problem.
What is strange is that it rarely works without knowing why.

Anyone have an idea to solve this problem?

Thanks a lot :)

I would suggest it's a temporary problem.

If the system won't update extensions (or fails in checking for them) try rebuilding the extensions update server list.

Same with the Joomla system update - although there won't be any updates given you're on 4.2.1 (but make sure the Joomla Update component is pointing to the correct update server).

Not sure about the other red-box errors.

By 'substitutions' I assume you mean Overrides?

Hello and thank you for your answer.
I had already done these manipulations and I redid them but the problem is still present.
I don't understand because if I go to the extension update and I ask to scan it works but if I go back to the homepage there are always errors.
It's very strange

Hello,
I found the problem.
It's old Techjoomla update plugins that were in conflict.
I removed everything that was related to Techjoomla and I redid a clean install of InviteX.
Now everything works!

Hello,
I found the problem.
the problem was not a conflict with Invitex.
The problem came back and I figured out after a lot of research what it was.
The URL that should be put in "live site" in the "configuration.php" file didn't have the WWW.
So i "https://www." and now it works fine.

The variable $live_site in the file configuration.php was used in the past but in the latest major releases of Joomla it has limited use and it should normally be left blank.
