Installatron script for J! 4.2.2 does not work with Firefox Topic is solved

I cleared everything out of my original Joomla 4 installation and the databases. I installed joomla 4.2.2 which seemed to work. When I went to install I got a blank page. no error. I then ran the fpa. It says I don't have a database connected. I did create one, and myself as super user, and the rest of download process completed. How do I connect the existing data base to the joomla I downloaded?

Check the configuration.php file in the root of your site. Is it there? I think the FPA report suggests it is missing. Look in administrator/logs - is there any php file there relevant to your new installation. Any update record would be in joomla_update.php.

Joomla uses the database connection details and credentials you entered as part of the installation.

Questions: how did the FPA found Joomla 4.1.0? Why do some folder have incorrect permissions 777 instead of 755?

It is best to clean everything and start with a clean folder and an empty database schema.

I did a complete scrub of all Joomla on my website and databases, then made several attempts to reload 4.2.2. Each time when I got to the Installer page, it was blank. I ma
several attempts with Cpanel, and finally tried Godaddy's "Installatron", to no avail. I have always used Firefox in doing my work on the website.
I switched to Chrome browser and used Godaddys Installatron, and the Installer page came up the first time. I completed the configuration and all looks like it is working.
Don't know what's up with Firefox. I pulled up the same page, on both browsers the Chrome showed the Cassiopeia home page, the Firefox show the joomla menu tree and login in windows style.
Thanks Gentlemen for the suggestions. I don't know whats up with Firefox, but will use Chrome til I find out.
