No articles on the Backend (admin-panel)

Post by Kuroi-Mori » Sat Nov 27, 2021 1:11 pm

Hello,

My main issue is that I see no articles in Admin-Panel.
In MySQL phpMyAdmin there are all the articles and the site displays all as well.
It is my first time for me to ask a question on this forum.
I don't have any programming knowledge.

I installed Quickstart of Helix Ultimate (SP Page Builder) of Joomshaper about a month ago and copied all the files from my old site (Joomla 3).
It worked fine so far .... till 5 days ago.
I bought SP Page Builder Pro and updated from Lite to Pro version.
Then with a message "JScript not found" the site was not being displayed anymore.

The site is shown with Cassiopea.

The answer from Joomshaper-Support was as follows:

"The error seems related to Joomla.
Would you please check the following discussions?

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/458 ... -not-found
viewtopic.php?f=812&p=3637980"

That did not help, but it seems to be an issue of the language.
My site is in Japanese (Main) and German.

As I found no solution, I installed once again Quickinstall and copied all the files again.
All the files were copied, but in Admin-Panel the articles are still missing.

I can write new articles, but only on the admin-panel.
If I write an article on phpMyAdmin, the article is NOT shown on the admin.
If I write an article on Joomla-Backend, I see this article in the table "content" in the phpMyAdmin, together with all the other old articles.

It is not possible for me to copy hundreds of the articles on the admin-panel, but on the phpMyAdmin I can do copy-and-paste.

Sorry for writing a question with a long explanation.
All the trials I faced several errors, like "JScript", "Invalid field". etc.
I gave up to find a solution.

Now I like to know how to write, insert, set the articles in the phpMyAdmin.
Writing in the table "content" is clearly not enough.
I hope someone can give me a reliable information.
Thank you
Ichiro

You cannot use database tables from J3 in J4. the structure is different. Proably a linked database table is missing. Upgrade your J3 site using the Joomla Updater.

Note: Quick start packages is only for demo sites. It's not recommended for production.

Thank you very much.
Hmm, you convinced me on the one hand, but on the other hand I wonder why the site was functioning as I exchanged the files on the Joomla 4 Quickstart.
My Joomla 3 site was using T3 Framework of Joomlart and I failed once to migrate to J4.
That was not the reason, but as I decided to use the Helix ultimate for Joomla 4 I thought it should be better installing their Quickstart.
Ok, you must be right.
I now challenge again to upgrade Joomla 3.
Thank you very much.

Quickstarts are stand-alone website installs (they include Joomla itself). Therefore you install them as if you're installing a fresh Joomla, in a new folder and database.

If you want to install Helix on an existing site, then install the stand-alone framework plugin and Helix Ultimate template (or any other that supports that framework).

I don't know that Joomshaper has a version that will migrate between 3.10 and 4.0. The recommended way when migrating would be to remove T3, and associated template, set the site to Protostar (in 3.10), make sure everything else is disabled or uninstalled, do the migration which will set the template to Cassiopeia, then you can install the Helix framework for J4.0 and Helix Ultimate template and adjust the module positions to suit the new template and content.

Thank you very much.
Yes, as you mentioned Quickstart of Helix Ultimate J4 looks fine and working.
At the upgrade process of SP Page Builder (from Lite to Pro) I encountered JScript issue.
As this issue could not be solved (Joomshaper support said, it seems like the Joomla-issue) I decided to install a Quickstart again.
Everything (copy files and extentions or new install) was fine except the fact that the content/articles are not shown on Backend/admin-panel.

According to your advice and encouragement I tried again, to migrate the site from J3 to J4.
Result. I failed.
After having uninstalled and deleted many files there are still many "Update Information Unavailable" files remained.
As I found these files nowhere (datafiles and phpMyAdmin) I decided to make a upgrade.

No data was transfered, with the following messages;
------------------------------
An error has occurred.
0 Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Application\AdministratorApplication::isAdmin()

Class 'JDispatcher' not found
------------------------------

It took a long time, but it is OK.
Helix Ultimate is working with Joomla 4.
Now I just have to copy hundreds of articles one by one.
I thank you very much again.
