How to Disable Web Authentication

Building a family blog site using J4 where all users will need to login to access registered pages etc.

The site is https/. With the new build J4 the Login details Web Authentication. Understanding a password is satisfactory and suitable to most of my users, can the Web Authentication be disabled from the frontend Login to avoid deterring my users away.
If so, please advise how.

You could disable the plugin as documented at https://docs.joomla.org/WebAuthn_Passwordless_Login.

How To Disable the Plugin
If you do not wish to allow WebAuthn just go to the list of plugins and find System - WebAuthn Passwordless Login in the System group and disable it. There are no parameters to set.

Easy to see why you think passwordless login might not be relevant - I have thought about that too. However, it does no harm to leave it and even encourage your folks to use it. Have a look at the documentation:

https://docs.joomla.org/WebAuthn_Passwordless_Login

You could just tell your folks it costs £15 for a FIDO key and takes a few minutes to set up.
