J4 Unable to Save Any Article

Post by jspdjanggo » Thu Jan 19, 2023 9:20 am

Good Morning,
My J4 are unable to save or save as copy any article, previously i was going back and forward with JCE editor and Tinymce editor settings for trying to get rid of the text filter, most advance are with the confusing and sea of buttons on JCE, on Global Configuration text filter ive set the Administrator and Super user to NO FILTERING, then i go to Tinymce with only inputing the prohibited with 'empty' then the allowed are left with blank, and on JCE i was doing more testing on going back and forward with the HTML validation from inherit to No then to Yes then back to inherit after i reinstalled the component, for iframe in JCE i set to allowed, then i test few more with the Js and CSS after reading some tutorials or article i went, then i do the setting of speculating maybe those might release me from TEXT FILTER PROBLEMO NUMERO UNO for stripping down any html scripts inputs.

Well anyway, now i cant even save or save or copy any article but im still able to save and copy modules and ive done some FPA and need help of what is actually going on, thank you.

the category and article are able to create new by clicking the button but unable to be save or save and close, for site modules worked fine weather create and save, this really stop my content production and i've uninstalled the JCE and Akeeba to test weather its related with the error but still the same statement as following below:
Save failed with the following error: Duplicate entry 'new number every time i try to test them' for key 'PRIMARY'

PHP API: apache2handler ... should be cgi ... speak to your Host
Session Path Writable: No ... should be yes ... speak to your Host
User Privileges : GRANT PROXY should be grant all ... speak to your Host
Folders should be 755

thank you foe the reply, im doing this from localhost and i will look up to the settings u mentioned, previously I also already tried the folder permission using terminal as following:
sudo systemctl -R 755 /srv/http/ce5y
but the result are unable to change few settings of the global configuration so i change it back to as following:
sudo systemctl -R ugo+rw /srv/http/ce5y
while later on cpanel ill switch it back to 755 and few check of they needful to folder permission.

as i remember those settings you mentioned are already been done and idk exactly what happen since previously im able to create article, category and module, I havent nor touch the apache2handler, im curious of why the Session Path Write went back to NO.

PHP API: apache2handler ... should be cgi ... speak to your Host
Session Path Writable: No ... should be yes ... speak to your Host
User Privileges : GRANT PROXY should be grant all ... speak to your Host
Folders should be 755
i found this article as following:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Apache_HTTP_Server
are those the right adjustment to change apache2handler to cgi ?
while im still having a live localhost will my folder be erased or i should do another backup using akeeba ?

With localhost no need to change the handler. Follow https://docs.joomla.org/Installing_Joom ... bian_Linux for Linux OS localhost. Your OS is Linux based yes?

You could edit the php.ini file to define the session save path?

I already done that in folder etc/php by uncommenting session.save_path with '/tmp' as its default using sudo gedit /etc/php/php.ini and also I copy the php.ini and placed in /joomla or /srv/http/ce5y folder with more directing to the joomla folder change the '/tmp' to '/srv/http/ce5y/tmp' inside the session save path quote so there is two php.ini sofar.

after that i restart the apache2handler with sudo systemctl restart httpd and mysql as well and i refresh and the fpa-en.php page ane click generator button with result are still NO or Session Path Writable: No

Copying the file over will have no affect because many of the php commands are ignored in local php files.

Best I can suggest is
Use xampp
Run ftp to create the joomla folder and ftp the zip file
Unpack the zip file with your OS file manager
Point your browser at localhost/joomlafolder
Install Joomla
Then everything should work

Your problem is php is running under the OS user but you installed Joomla as SU. The SU owner can not write to a file it is not owner of.

I had a similar problem when I used Ubuntu. Using xampp in that way sorted out the ownership issue.

'sudo chown -R jspdjanggo /srv/http/ce5y'
to that one now its 'sudo chown -R root:root /srv/http/ce5y'

the folder permission confused me, my laptop user name is jspdjanggo and what to put in the to srv, http, or the joomla folder coz I was missusing the syntax i've done 777 to all from the root with chown root:root and chmod ugo+rw
while in the link you sent for debian install there is also -f and -d in the folder permission section and ive done that also according to my system srv/http directory .. now its a spageti all over the folder permission .. and I spot that there is a warning for using the folder sysntax permission in existing Xamp also creating new folder using Nautilus folder manager can caused a problem, that is exactly what im doing and yes i create new folder inside Nautilus folder manager after extracting the joomla folder then copy paste the files after that I run the syntax ugo+rw to the folder since my LAMP stack are always on perhaps a restart httpd ive done made it back to default NO and I cant save article but for modules its a green of success save .. in just don't get if, what happen to my LAMP stack ?

Sir, maybe this is where it all started, I try setting the ftp using filezila then I run the wizard, since the test always failed and i cant figure out how the right side folder could show my localhost directory for moving things from left to right as if we were on live server which are more easy by inputing the domain name, user and password and things are all green but in local folder or local host always failed and I spot an article that says ftp or filezila are not ment to be used for local folder so i stop to solve the problem and move on by using Nautilus with new folder, copy paste, sudo the folder with ugo+rw then run the joomla.from browser then things get running with pages after oages and content after content to this problem didnt show up at the begining of the web development, the problem i had was with JCE and Tinymce text editor for stripping down my html script inside the code toggle when I was editing a slide module, though it kind off sorted out that im able to bring it on the page still I missed the class stripping that JCE did so I went back and I permit the CSS to yes, the slide was ok but the class was stripped so I go to template developer documentation since the article extra field are empty but the documentation page are telling the wrong extra field, I have to let go the module and move on to another article edit, so i save and exit the module it is a green notification, but when I try to save an article then this issue start with error.

as prefer to still use the LAMP stack is there a way i just to fix the part for writeable to YES so my article can be save with green notification.

because ive done a lot of time and energy to bring up the LAMP stack and used just one AMP which is the srv/http the reason is for me there is conflict to port 80 and my knowledge are not able to managed good settings on both so i let go the XAMP and things get moving, if i now instal XAMP again i have to uninstall the LAMP stack which erased the existing environment just to fix php writeable to YES.

can i do this as following:
create a new user in phpmyadmin, permit previlage or check all to the db im using for my joomla, change the db user name from root to new username and password from the configuration.php ?

the php are running under user name jspdjanggo which also when I install the php 8.1, apache, mysql and phpmyadmin all are using sudo syntax one by one, im installing the joomla using browser but before doing so i run ugo+rw to the folder so i guess both are under root and things working nicely until im unable to save article in the middle of the development because earlier im able to save it and even im in the middle of finishing an article which i left by using save and close to continue the next day.

as if i re-installed the apache or php and mysql is it going to erased the database and folders or just over write it or is there a way to repair them ?

or is it a full uninstall then install them back as I was creating the LAMP stack from. the begining ?

and this maybe not the first time i had with folder permission issue so im guessing there will be another one in the future with the session.save_path to NO in a sudden unexpected timing later on.

this one are the php.ini from inside the joomla directory folder right ?

so i comment back with ; the session.save_path: '/path' inside php.ini file in etc/php folder and uncomment the same line php.ini which i from a copy paste from the etc/php to srv/http/joomla or ce5y and those will overide the default php.ini

the session path are now writeable, I copy paste the php.ini and change the path to tmp folder of session.save_path: '/srv/http/joomla/tmp' according to configuration.php file.
IMG-20230122-WA0004.jpg[/
and i do test to save an article but still error.
Save failed with the following error: Duplicate entry '144' for key 'PRIMARY'

Dear Sirs,.
PROBLEM SOLVED by using CHATGPT ( [ redacted ] ) with subject as following:

1) Joomla 4 can't save any article Save failed with the following error: Duplicate entry for key 'PRIMARY'
2) How to enable the primary key auto-increment feature
3) Alter the table structure: In the "Structure" tab, click on the "Primary" link next to the primary key field, which is named "id" by default.

Action taken as following:

- I went to my localhost phpmyadmin.
- then locating the articles table which is named "jos_content" by default but mine was "str_content"
- Run the following SQL query to modify the table structure:
ALTER TABLE `jos_content` MODIFY id INT(11) AUTO_INCREMENT;
- Save the changes: Click on the "Go" button to save the changes.

note: the bot or chatgpt tell me to unpublish one by one or even all of the custom plugins and modules that caused the auto increment to be halted or error of such well at least thats how i sees it, i cant remember which on each because ive create many custom modules and installing plugins from components and i just dont want to risk further issue with my existing website because the problem was with only articles with unable to be save or keep as content in the joomla website.

Well, there you go guys i hope this will help our community a little bit incase there were same issue like mine.

ur correct ill look up more on that, moving the folder and files using terminal are called ftp in linux since its passing a password requested and its also much faster in process, i mean really fast.

as if i drag and dropped file or folder from local to local the folder permission are 755 and linux will mark me as user group when we do development and even when starting the AMP linux will request for password that means im numbered 5 on permission and unable to write nor delete any new task especially to mysql since the AMP (Apache, Mysql, Php) are under /etc folder or root

everytime i enter the login to my laptop linux mark me as user and not root to /etc so i'm given permission 5 to that so I need to do sudo chmod 777 or ugo+rw from the very begining after the drag drop or copy paste are complete which took a while for around 100mb transfer not including or another extra time for detracting inside /http folder or where joomla are located.

alternative to that are su -l root from the very begining and the linux will mark me as root with red colored with a warning to very careful of what I will type next.

using filezilla are only made from localhost or local drive to hosting server, few article I saw doesnt recommend to do local to local instead of using for example mkdir to create, mget to copy and mput to paste and those are whats ment by linux of local file transfer protocol (ftp).

so rather i start as root at the very begining or doing extra sudo command and putting password on each phase i went through on the process, riskful su -l root one time or play save with password of every task I mean every task :D
