Cannot login to Administrator area (404) Topic is solved

I am having no problems with other sites on the same server. It's a live site I'm trying to login to, using my Super User admin info. The login page loads OK, but after entering my credentials, it just sits there until it times out with a 404 error.

UPDATE - It appears I technically DO login... While the page is trying to load the Home Dashboard, I can append something like /index.php?option=com_users&view=users, and the page loads fine. So, it's a dashboard problem.

I remembered I added two Joomla RSS feed modules - one for security updates, and another for Joomla News (feeds provided by joomla.org). After going to Administrator Modules, I could deactivate those two modules, and that allowed loading of the dashboard page.

So, if you run into a similar problem logging into the Administrator area, check your Admin Modules.

Issue with Flex template (v3.9.9)?

The template comes with things like SP Page builder (old version) and other things, and also states it's compatible with Joomla 4.2.x not 4.3.x and last update of the template was December 2022.

These would probably be out of date by now:

• Sp Page builder 3.8.9
• Helix 3.0.3
• Virtuemart 4.0.12
• Acymailing 7.9.8

Check for individual updates of each of those extensions.

Well, my problem was fixed when I cleared the offending Administrator dashboard module. However, I'm cleaning up the database now after these good suggestions. The Acymailing component is nowhere to be found in the administrator area when searching extensions. I'm dropping those database tables. Same for Virtuemart. The Flex template works fine in 4.3.4 otherwise, so I think it's left some elements behind from prior versions somehow.

I had already been keeping SP Page Builder updated - running version 5.1.0 at the moment, which is current. Not sure where the old version is hiding separately...
