Joomla update doesn't work Topic is solved

On backend-site "Joomla Update" comes
We can't find a download URL.
You are on the "Default" update channel.

When i try it manually, the update-file is uploaded, but then nothing happens.

Actual Version 4.0.4, i've updatet it from V3.9

There is no update path from 3.9 to 4.0.4 you must go to 3.10 first

This must be fixed on the server.

I manage another website where also "Session Path Writable: No" is set and there it works.
I also changed the directory to a writeable one -> same problem

The only difference of my two websites is that "PHP suExec" isn't activatet on the bad one.
Is that necessary for updates and maybe this the problem?

I've solved the problem by reinstalling Joomla
