File checksum failed Topic is solved

Hello there,

I need help upgrading to Joomla 4x. When I try to update I get the error message "File checksum failed" and the following message "Could not open archive file part xxxxx for reading...."
Does somebody know what could be the problem?

Which version of Joomla are you trying to upgrade from? Did the Pre-Update Check report any incompatible extensions?

Did you download the upgrade package first from https://downloads.joomla.org and then used Joomla! Update component and the option Upload & Update, or did you run the upgrade from the option Live Update?

I just tried to update two extensions and got the following error:

Joomla\CMS\Filesystem\Folder::create: Das Verzeichnis kann nicht erstellt werden!Path: /new-orleans-music-schweiz
Before updating ensure that the update is compatible with your Joomla! installation.
You are strongly advised to make a backup of your site's files and database before you start updating.

I have joomla version 3.10.

For updating I tried both options.

Are those two extensions compatible with Joomla 3.10?

Go to System - System Information - Folder Permissions and check that the folders are writable. Joomla requires the folder permissions in the remote server to be 755.

Folders shall be 755 and files 644.

Check what user the fpm-fcgi process is running as. Chown the files to this user.

I looked at the permissions via extplorer extension.Apparently most permissions are not like you wrote. How can I change the permissions of all folders and files simultaneously? Is there an option via extplorer extension?

And how can I see which user is running the fpm-fcgi process?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your help. I was now able to solve it. The paths to the log file and tmp files were not correct. For some reason I could not change the permissions of the folders. When I put the files in a different location it worked.
