Ghost Components, Plugins, and Modules

Post by MAD King » Wed Sep 27, 2023 7:13 pm

I am trying to migrate from J3 to J4 and after checking, I get a lot
Update Information Unavailable
when doing a
Extensions Pre-Update Check
.

The weird thing is that none of these can be found under Extensions: Manage.
I see them in the folders.

How do I remove these?

Did you ever use those extensions? Did you uninstall them in the past?

Perhaps try a "discover install", see if they reinstall, and then uninstall them?

Do you use Virtuemart? Some of those "unknown" plugins may be associated payment gateways for VM? (the ones named "OPC Rupos....")

You could also try removing any data tables in the database, and/or remaining folders in the plugins/modules/components folders (both root folder and administrator)?

For SP Page Builder (those named sppagebuilder.....) or Helix maybe try installing the relevant extensions again, then uninstall (if you don't use them). You might need to remove the SP Page Builder "Package" rather than individual extensions.

I deinstalled these years ago and have not used them since. I did not realize that they were still in the DB and in the folders since they do not show up in the extension module or plugin section. So, reinstalling is not possible.

remnants might remain, but doesn't mean they are correctly installed to show up in Ext Manger.

As I said earlier, you probably need to check the database, and remove any associated tables with those, and any physical associated folders with those extensions.
