Error updating 4.4.3 to 4.4.4

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to update from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4, with no success due to a "server error" (see the picture).
Gone through the troubleshooting section of this document https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... e_Problems:

• php.ini parameters are ok

• updates sites successfully rebuilt

• tried update channels "next" and "default": same error

The error occurs using both the "direct" site update and the package upload.

Any suggestions to (at least) where to look for any further info?

if the last line is "...update starting installation...." there's no subsequent "...installation completed..." (words to that effect), or even any other "failed install" message (other than the error message on screen)?

Could be temporary issues with the Joomla update server. Try again - there's a yellow button, "restart update" or the blue button "Resume update" - did you try those? Does "Get help with this error" go to any website page for tips or is it linked to this forum?

No, the last line is the very last line

All available buttons tried, no effect; the "Get help with this error" button links to the document mentioned in my original post. Hope is just some temporary issue... I'm going to retry...
