This does not seem to be correct,it references php72,you are using php 8.1.28. Much better if your host removes open base directives altogether .

Thanks, GWS. I think that might have been an artifact of trying to troubleshoot, but I've now validated I'm on 8.1x.

I was able to find the source of the AJAX issue, which was Godaddy's firewall. Once I allowed my own IP address I was finally able to get the file to launch.
