403 forbidden unable to access subfolder of website

Post by Folamour » Sun Mar 26, 2023 4:35 am

hi folks, i'm sorry but i'll ask your help because i don't sort it out,

I want to use GT translate module on my website, but he need to access subfolder for language aka https://www.crashdebug.fr/en and so on....

but i cannot access i have this message :

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access this resource.

i'll tried to rename .htaccess to .htaccessok, put one 'normal' .htaccess from joomla installation

disabling admin tools, and rs firewall but i'll still have the same error

i dont want to change folder permission who is 755 (who should be ok, to read and execute)

I'll tried also to change to permission in hosting manager to directory listing for this folder set to yes (no change that dont work)

on local Xampp lab, disabling admin tools, rs firewall and .htaccess allow to access to localhost/en/

any idea please to access this subfolder on the live domain ?

thanks a lot,

f.

Is there a subfolder called en? It may be present simply in the URL of a multi-lingual Joomla site.

Does RSFirewall have any settings to allow the URL with /en?

The extensions RSFirewall and Admin Tools do basically the same thing, trying to block invalid and malicious URLs from getting to the Joomla site. Check the firewall settings in both of them and test them one at a time, to avoid any interference and double handling.

hi Toivo, yes there is a subfolder en for testing purpose, i've tried everythings in the firewall, but we have a lot of attack its why we still use the both,

on local xampp that work, this is why i'm wondering that came from the host

on previous install i was able to make it work, but i've to get ride of admin tools,

all the best, f.

Hi folks, so the solution was to add + Options +Indexes in .htaccess to allow directory listing

and also one .htaccess in the subfolder with

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

hope this will work in your case,

Thank you for the update. Please note that the following message is now displayed when the folder /en is accessed:

Code: Select all

Index of /en
Name	Last modified	Size	Description
