Data Entry stuff

Post by SPDJoomla4 » Tue Jun 28, 2022 2:15 pm

This might be outside the scope of a simple personal Joomla 4.1 site, but I do plan/hope to have a few custom tables that I would ultimately be displayed/filtered in pages using something like Joodatabase.

Just wondering if there was an extension that provided data entry stuff to help populate these tables. My thought is that some of my visitors might want to contribute so something I could also show on front end.

While the dataset would be very small (< 10 tables with <100 records) there would be some relationships. Like Category, Authors and Type referenced table with primary and foreign keys.

Unfortunately it would have to be free or at least under £10
Cheers

Which kind of data do you need to show that you need custom tables?

I have assorted data which I need 100% control over outside of Joomla or any version/updates.

Then you will need some kind of content construction kit, like SEBLOD

Joodatabase has edit and new forms built in...
Sedblod is not j4 ready yet but it is close to being J4 ready.

Cheers, that's a bit outta my price range. I figured it was be useful to work with a tool from the start even for adding my own data but MySQL Workbench or something will be fine for now until I have an actual need.
Thanks for the info

have a look at JoomlaBoat's Custom Tables. The pro-version gives you more but maybe the free version will do it for you. The wike is still a little bot behind but there is enough to start with
