Manifest Cache Warning on TinyMCE

Post by jamesborders » Tue Feb 07, 2023 8:28 pm

I'm receiving a "Refresh Manifest Cache failed plg_editors_tinymceExtension is not currently installed" message after installation of J! 4.2.7. I'm also receiving an entry in Extensions > Discover for the TinyMCE plugin. I don't use or have installed the TinyMCE editor because I use JCE for my editor. How do I resolve these warnings / warnings?

Then select to install what has been Discovered.

What if I don't want / don't need TinyMCE? Why is Joomla giving me this issue if I don't have it installed?

Then don't use it.

The TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor is part of J!. You should not try to uninstall those things that come standard with J!. It doesn't hurt or cost you anything to retain TinyMCE.

I don't use TinyMCE myself but that doesn't mean it's something you need to remove. Just leave it alone and don't think about it. If you have removed it, somehow, then re-install it ... as @Webdongle recommended and then those "manifest cache warning" messages will go away. 8)
