Database extention to store, search and show data?

Does anyone know if there is a Joomla extension that allows third parties, after logging into the website, to add data to a database via the front end and retrieve data via a search function.
Adding data should be done via a form.
I did some research myself and came up with Chronoform, but I am not sure if this extension can be used to search and retrieve data from a database and display it on a website.
Does anyone have experience with this and/or a suggestion for an extension?

You also can try this great component where it can read the data from your table and store/update them with the form included
