Photo gallery extensions

Post by crissoft » Sun May 12, 2024 5:42 pm

What would be the best to use from Ozio Gallery, Phoca Gallery or RC Gallery ?
I wanted to use SP Easy Image Gallery but I can make albums only by upload and not from folders already made on site.

Ozio Gallery limits the free version at 30 photos for album, so that leaves Phoca Gallery or RC Gallery.
What I need to use is a gallery that makes albums by adding the photos that are already uploaded in folders on the site.

Hello,

May I suggest to have a look on https://up.lomart.fr/demo/action-image-gallery#gallery

You could create a gallery with a link on a folder very easly.

Thanks this plugin I have decrease a lot of the number of extensions installed, the plugin UP could manage gallery but could do many more.

Regards

JF

I use a plugin for galleries (can't recall its name right now but it's on the extension directory). You upload images to the Media Manager (e.g. in a subfolder like images/gallery), then in your article, insert a short code specifying the folder name e.g. {plg_gallery}gallery{/gallery}.

The plugin knows to look in a folder within /images for the folder name specified ("gallery") so you don't need to specify the full path name to the images folder. The plugin will create thumbnails for all images found in the specified folder. For maintenance, it's a matter of adding or deleting images from that folder under Media Manager (or if you prefer, by FTP or your webhost's file manager utility in your web hosting control panel).

You have some control over layout through the extension such as padding and margins between thumbnails, and I think you can specify thumbnail size. You could tweak it further with custom CSS I expect.

Otherwise, it's a basic gallery that fits well in any place you can add content including articles, modules etc.

When I have a moment I will return and give the plugin's link.
