Hello,

I got the error message: Class "Joomla\Plugin\System\Weblinks\Extension\Weblinks" not found

after upgrading weblinks from 4.01 to 4.31 using Joomla 4.3.3 installation. Now I can't neither access the backend (the message above is displayed) nor the frontend where it states the same message.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

How did you use J4.3.3

Sorry, I meant 4.4.3

I now manually rewrote the weblinks-folders from a backup and the issue is gone.

That error looks odd because the installation of Weblinks 4.3.1 installs the Weblinks component, a module and the system plugin. Even if the plugin is disabled or the folder plugins/system/weblinks is renamed, the Joomla 4.4.3 backend, including the Weblinks component keep working.

Disable the plugin by using phpMyAdmin from the cPanel provided by your host. Edit the table _extensions, locate the row for the Weblinks system plugin and change the column 'enabled' from 1 to 0. Then install Weblinks 4.3.1 again.

BTW, the latest version of Joomla 4.x is 4.4.3.

Thanks toivo, I recreasted the weblinks 4.01 installation manually and everything works fine. And I don't have an update link to Weblinks 4.3.1 anymore.
