Template look dull on site but on demo look amazing

Hi,
Sorry if this question was asked but I found the answer only applicable on Joomla old version for my question.

I have insert the template on joomla but after I click on the site, the template look like blank. So what should I do if the template need to look like demo template?

I have been looking this for 2 days and I still hanging unless I just need to add the module on the template. but still the module doesn't have much like what the demo display

I hope this can be answered soon cuz I need to show my boss joomla design this friday

Many template providers do not give you the images used in their demos as they are often copyrighted ,you are supposed to use your own images. Is that your problem?

its not about image.. its about the design but also if i upload another template on Joomla the site also look blank means doesn't have the design showing

1. what do you mean work with cassiopeaia. the cassiopeaia just have menu, login and breadcrumb for the first time i use Joomla
2. The content not publish yet but I want to use the features like on the demo

You need to put content on your page and usee modules and images like in the demo.
Maybe there is a quickstart package from the template you can use to see how it is used.

No because the Template will be the same whether it's installed into Joomla or installed as a quickstart package.

A quickstart package is Joomla + template + demo content. You can install it locally and look how the modules are positioned, how to use the parameters, etc. and build your website on a empty Joomla installation + template and own content.

Wrong again. Most quickstart packages do NOT have sample data. In the most cases a quickstart package is a 'loss leader' to attract potential customers who think installing Joomla is difficult. They then attempt to convert those freebies into sales.

Quickstart packages (whether Template or Host's) are nothing more than a marketing ploy. They have no advantage over using Joomla as it is designed to but frequently have disadvantages.

Installing them on internal testing platforms isn't "bad" per se insomuch as an inexperienced Joomla! user can learn how to use the platform, build content, etc. Sometimes these folks don't grasp the basics before trying to launch into more complicated stuff.

And yes, the developer sample template rarely replicate on a local site even with a packaged install. But that does not give rise to beating newcomers with a stick for "being bad."

Perhaps pointing these new users to "how to use Joomla!" tutorials might help. If there even is one that does more that point out the "obvious" as is done on most all of the "Help" pages.

Nobody is 'beating newcomers with a stick'. Just some of us take the time to explain the pitfalls in the hope it will prevent newbies from wasting theirs.

Yes but they need to install Joomla first. If someone is going to learn something then surely they need to start with a firm base. Using a quickstart package is not a firm base and can cause problems later on.

Bottom line
Best way to test a 3rd party Template is to install the Joomla full package and sample data. That will show if the Template works with Joomla and not just with the quickstart package.

I have nothing against people earning a living. All I am doing is pointing out the free Templates and quickstart packages are part of a marketing plan. And one that is not always needed.

This topic is another example where a relatively straightforward question gets sidetracked into a "panel discussion". When I first saw this topic—and the subject—I was mildly amused. Of course the "demo version" often exceeds the consumer's expectations when they first open the packaging. The whole purpose of "demo versions" is to lure customers into the store so as to purchase all those extra goodies that make their basic product sparkle.

There's nothing mischievous about using these marketing techniques; there's no double-dealing or chicanery here: it's simply a case of caveat emptor; read the fine print. But while people often don't read the fine print, there's no need to take a piece of four-by-two and add insult to injury by reminding people, after the event, that they failed to do their own research.

Further, as I wrote elsewhere on this forum only recently, people don't always write in the most nuanced of ways.

I believe that [most] contributors [on this forum] ... have the best of intentions: [people don't] write what they write because their first motive is to reach for a loaded shotgun; they wrote what they wrote with the [best of] intentions (even if it might take a microscope to identify them). I won't mention any names but [much of the commentary] I've read here has been fair, albeit written with blunt crayons instead of an expensive hand-crafted fountain pen.

We are all aware of the pitfalls in using "quickie installs" as the basis for constructing a website to be used for business/production purposes. There are, however, benefits in using pre-packaged installation kits for experimentation. I've used 'em. I'm sure everyone's used 'em but, like most of us who build websites that we hope will survive a limited test of time, once we've played with these demos—a week or so, at the most—that's when it's time to shred 'em and do things "properly". There's no right or wrong answer here and it does not edify the discussion to beat one's chest and proclaim their particular point of view needs to be hammered tirelessly. For added good measure, please read my signature quote at the end of this post.
