Cassiopeia : recommended logo size

Post by jarod5001 » Wed Oct 23, 2024 2:49 pm

Hello everyone
I have two website running joomla 4.4.9, I tried to add a png logo in cassiopeia but it was displaying in full size.
I read that the recommended format to use is svg, but don't know what size or ratio are recommended. And is there a problem with using png or jpg files?
Thanks for your help

You can use jpg png etc but webp is probably the best. You determine the size of your logo when you create it?

You can use any image editor but imho https://www.gimp.org/ is good, just resize and type one of the dimensions and keep the ratio

Thank you all for taking the time to answer, but I already have design skills and I'm confortable with illustrator, photoshop, krita, etc... My question was what's the size in pixels. There should be a size range recommended but I am unable to find it

The 'recommended' size is whatever size suits your design/taste. I am aware that many design programs use drag/drop/resize on the fly. But with image size in Joomla it is trial and error. You could try /images/joomla_black.png as a starting point?

If you want to know the default logo size, use browser Dev Tools.

In all other cases, there are no recommended ranges. It all depends on your design layout.

When working in Photoshop, create layouts on a 1:1 scale then you will have all the necessary sizes. Joomla and its templates do not limit your fantasy flight.

The only recommendation is the width of the container for different screens. Adhere to this when creating a design
