Astroid template layout doesn't display
Hi,
I just installed the Astroid extension in J 4.4.9, Windows 10.
Previously my webpage had a layout based on the Cassiopea template. I made a copy of Astroid and made it my default template and changed some of the settings and saved. However when I display the page it still shows the earlier Cassiopea layout. Is there anything I am missing here?
The instructions on how to "Creating a basic Astroid Template" say that the original template must be unistalled and the Astroid Template_zero/two/etc. file deleted. Could this be the reason why I am not seeing the changes displayed? (Why if so?) On the other hand J4 doesn't let me unistall the default Astroid template.

The latest version of Astroid Framework is 3.1.8 and can be downloaded here: https://github.com/templaza/astroid-fra ... -3.1.8.zip
You don't need to unistall default Cassiopea template.
After you installed Astroid choose Template two and set it as default. Clear cache after that just in case.

Hi @Nidzo2203,
I installed exactly 3.1.8 but nothing happens, not even after clearing the cache (both the J4 and Firefox)
I unistalled both the framework and the Astroid 2 template, and reinstalled them but again, I can only see the cassiopea template layout shown.

Re: Astroid template layout doesn't display
Update: even after disabling Cassiopea, initially the layout being used was still Cassiopea's
I've tried other templates as well with the same result while Cassiopea was enabled but not set as the default template.
After a while though, after Cassiopea was disabled, the other templates would load, as expected when set as default.
I cleared the cache several times (both the J4's and firefox's), and I wonder if that has had any effect at all.
Has anyone experienced this behavior? I wasted quite a lot of time figuring out why this was happening....

I use Astroid Framework on my projects for the long time. I never had issue like that. Maybe you could ask for help on project GitHub.

Re: Astroid template layout doesn't display
I just realized that when I look at the page where all the templates styles are shown, the Cassiopeia template has a different qualification that is always kept no matter whether it is chosen as the default template or not
Namely, the PAGES columns says that Cassiopeia
while all the others are either "Non Assigned" or "Dafault for all pages" .... and assigned as being default, for some reason, doesn't let the template be used by joomla to style the page.
is it possible that this has to do with Cassiopeia being "Assigned" to 14 pages? Preventing other templates to be used as default?
How can I "unassign" Cassiopeia?

Code: Select all

Re: Astroid template layout doesn't display
Ok problem solved. After discovering how to unassign pages to a template the new template framework magically appeared to be fully operational.
