Change URL

Hi is there any way to remove root menu name from URL?
Example
www.mydomain.com/menu1/article
change to
www.mydomain.com/article
where menu1 is Menu Heading

Joomla has to know what menu item to use. That will be url 1.

I don't see any problems with using it.

With wordpress you are able to do this. Joomla requires a menu link. You can customize it a little better with 4SEO by Weeblr. When it comes to SEO, you can shorten the parent menu like this:
www.mydomain.com/m/article
Typically for SEO a shorter url is better. However, depending on how many url's you have in the parent menu, you will have to do a 301 redirect from:
www.mydomain.com/menu1/article
to
www.mydomain.com/m/article
