Vertical Dropdown Menu

I'm trying to duplicate a vertical menu. A link to the site with what I'm looking for is posted here:

I'm using Gantry 5 and DJ Mega Menu.

I'm currently trying to get DJ Mega Menu to work but I'm having a hard time understanding the vertical menu setting.

With Gantry menus, I don't know how to color the cell background or keep the menu in one row.

If anyone has a recommendation on an extension please let me know. I have tried a few and none work without extensive modifications.

Is there was to build this menu with an actual program?

I think Accordeon Menu CK gets pretty close to exactly what I'm looking for.

Yes, but I can't get the background color to change correctly or the menu to drop down (instead of fly out to the right) with the JL Vert. menu.

Do you know a way of getting the JL Vert. menu to not fly out and change the background color (on hover)?

I'm still open to an suggestions. CK Accordion Menu works but it would be nice to be able to make menus and change the hover state and whatnot how you see fit. Even if you have to use a standalone program to do.

Once you have the parent, sub and sub menu done (in tables and cells) then you would just change the text and links accordingly. Like a visually css editor.
