Cant install Joomla 5 on Mamp 6

Hello,
I am attempting to install Joomla 5 locally using MAMP 6 on a Mac.
However, the SQL version does not support Joomla 5.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Not Mamp... seems (i'm not so sure) that I've to install Mysql8 or Maria DB on my computer. I'm reading different docs after a google search

MAMP and MAMP Pro v6.9 currently on MySQL 5.7.x so cannot run J5. I’ve tried. It doesn’t work.
I’ve been in contact with MAMP and they’re working on v7 which will come with more up to date MySQL.
Temporarily, I’m using XAMMP which comes with MariaDB 10.4.28 and will run J5 out of the box.

You might consider installing individual packages as described here:

I use a slightly different set up with the Apache root in /Users/username/Sites - that allows me to create any number of sub-folders with names such as j4, j5, mediawiki and so on. I have over 50 such. I set the cookie path in each Joomla installation to avoid clashes. I am using Sonoma on 10+ year old MacBook Pro. Convenient for me for testing and development.
