Save failed with the following error: Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x81.

Hello,

I'm new here on the forum, but I've played around with Joomla a lot in the past, so it's not a strange system to be familiar with.

My problem concerns this kind of peculiar problem, i.e. when I add emoji to articles, the system hits an error message like this: "Save failed with the following error: Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x81."

What could be the reason for this, because for example on WAMP server this does not happen?

Compare wamp settings with your live servers settings.

Welcome to Joomla forum!

Which Joomla version do you use? Joomla 5.0.3?
Which editor do you use? TinyMCE or a 3rd party like JCE editor?

In what User Group is your account? Super Users or Administrator?
Could you check the Textfilters for your User Group? Via Global Configuration > Textfilters

The database will not be able to store emoties unless it has UTF8-MB4.

Hi and thanks. Joomla 5.0.2, but I remember that I had that same issue with 4.x.x last year. I've tried both, TinyMCE and JCE Editor.

At this time I use Super User, but I check that

That's interesting :o Well, emojis are not the main issue, but I'm going to move content from my older site, which is powered by WordPress... Joomla has some features that beats WordPress, and WP has changed IMO to wrong direction. I have over 100 articles and there are some emojies in these articles
