Media Manager empty has no folders nor files. Topic is solved

Ok To modern times
I have the same problem BUT my work around is pointing to the update server in the Dashboard
On startup all the J 5 dashboard notifications are red If I the check System Joomla shoes up to date + extensions But Media folder is empty
NOW I go to System - update Joomla Options and change channel Save and exit The media folder works and all the notices turns to green and working

So fan nobody is coming with helps Except thew Live site is nor empty and as above Max. Input Time: -1
I had Max time set to 90 by SP I cannot find ANY place to clear Live site
On the forum there are live site discussion but not ho and where to empty
Hope some one will came up with help
This Media folder is a regular problem
and I see it as different to the discussion above

To clear live site, go to global config file in the root of joomla and find; public $live_site = ''; If there is anything between the ' ' remove it.

I located it with file manager on the server as follows
Home Directory/public_html/configuration.php
the entry is
public $live_site = 'http://www.dragonflies.co.za';
Now the problem starts again If I remove "http://www.dragonflies.co.za" to look like this "public $live_site = ''; and hit save it indicates a successful save followed by a message Error from the SP If I refresh the entry is as original. Looks like for some reason I am not allowed to change this entry at all

In your original comments you mentioned Frameworks and templates
I used a Joomlart, Joomlashack, Gantry5 templates. (LOTS from Gantry) long ago (early J 3 days) Working through the file manager I found numerous scrap files that was not uninstalled. So I cleaned that up. The last to clean up was joomlashack framework and OSMAPS. I also found akeeba remnants and removed it. At the MOMENT it appears the site is starting normal
So if we can clears Live_site I do feel positive

configuration.php has file permissions set to 444. You have to change the permissions to 644 before editing with a text editor. You can leave it at 644. Next time you change anything in Global Configuration Joomla will change the permissions back to 444.
