Joomla updates

Post by trogladyte » Mon May 20, 2024 8:32 pm

I have all my sites set to "Default" and "Stable". Yet I'm getting a number of them sending me update notices about the latest RC1 release. Anyone else experiencing this?

"default" is for updating with a version series e.g. 4.4.1 to 4.4.2 etc. "JoomlaNext" is for updating between major versions e.g. 3.10 to 4 or 4. to 5.

In the Joomla update, it seems there are two options to set. The update change e.g. Default or JoomlaNext, and "minimum stability e.g. alpha, beta, RC, stable (etc). Is that what you're referring to, and yet it's giving you notification of updates to Release Candidates?

What Joomla version are you using - 5.1.0 is the latest. On joomla.org under developer network / nightly builds the only version there is J5.2-alpha1. 5.2RC is not scheduled for release until at least October 2024 (refer to: https://developer.joomla.org/roadmap.html). What RC release are you seeing as "available"?

Sorry, all my sites (bar 1 - long and annoying story there!!) are 5.1.0. And yes, under "Options", I have Update Channell set to Default, and Minimum Stability set to "Stable". Yet I get bugged about an RC.

I am seeing the same thing on one of my Joomla! 5.1.0 sites. I don't know why the other sites with similar installations are not reporting RC1 availability yet.

Is it Joomla sending the notifications or are you subscribed to a 3rd party update service?

There was some discussion on the FB group and GitHub about the rc version being shown incorrectly as an available update.

My understanding is that this has been rectified.
