User Registration / Password change
I've done Jooma-Websites since 1.5, but now I am really confused. I've tried a lot to fix it, but I must raise the white flag.
Problem 1: I added a menu, menu type Users > "Change Password".
But even as normal "registered user" I see (aside "Change Password") TONS of options:
• Editor Choice
• Dark Mode
• Tours
• Author Image
• Description
• Profile: Delete, CSV-/XLS-Export
Trust me, I've gone trough all options: I checked plug-ins, User -> "Options", Manage extensions, Components > Contacts (disabled all fields). How the heck do I get rid of all these fields and options?
All I need is "Change Password".
Problem 2: Joomla sends out an Actiation Email
First I've set to "Activation by Admin", then "none". I've also de-activated "Send Email to user" in some contact plugin.
Goal: I want people to be able to register, w/o any eMail. Activation and Status will be done by the Admin.
I appreciate any hint...
thank you.

Re: User Registration / Password change
Where have you added that menu (front end or back end)? Those menu items look like options only an site admin type user would see (super user, administrator, manager, author, editor, publisher) - so that's not to say normal registered users would see them.
Can you post a screenshot, or some sort of screen-capture video demonstrating this menu - I've never heard of these menu items and I'm not in my site so can't test.
For normal registered users, change passwords function should be something done when a user edits their own profile or can be done in the Administrator side on behalf of the user in the User Manager by the site admin.
Regarding the admin account activation, the user should still have to receive the email to say their account is to be activated by the admin. Also how are they going to know when the account is active if you don't have the system tell them that? I mean if you manually email them, what is the difference between that, and the system doing so?
Send email to user contact plugin (sounds like the standard contact component in which you can send a CC copy too the user submitting the information in the form - has nothing to do with email sent for the registration or activation process.

Here are the screenshots. They are in German, but I'm sure you get the idea.
This user is "registered". I haven't done zero changes to the group / access rights of registered.
Extensions:
• GDPR
• SobiPro
• JSitemap
• JCE Editor
• Solidres
• Regular Labs Snippets
all latest versions (Joomla 5.2.2 + extensions)

@Webdongle: It's the standard Joomla-Menu: "Users > Change Password".

Re: User Registration / Password change
[UPDATE: I made a little step further. I deactivaed "Settings in Frontend. Now, at least the spooky settings like dark mode, editor, etc. are gone. Still, there are settings like "Author, Image, Description", how do I get rid of these?]

Yes, that's exactly what I want. I want to keep the registration process as "small"/easy/slim as possible. The users are informed that their account will be activated within 2 days. Manual activation, then Email by Admin. Not more.I mean if you manually email them,

I see menu item type 'Users >Password Reset' not "Users > Change Password". Also I don't see the options your site displays. What am I missing

Re: User Registration / Password change
It is the correct question. If you can provide instructions on how you reached that screen then we can try and replicate it. Once we can see what you are seeing then we might be able to work out what is happening.
If you are unable to do that then it is most likely that a 3rd party extension is adding the extra options. As far as I can see, those options are not standard in the Joomla full package.
Please post the results of https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/

Re: User Registration / Password change
I did that. Even with screenshots.
And if I knew how to replicate it, I knew how to solve the problem.
(wrong question again).
So, again: I kindly would like to know how to get rid of all these fields and options that appear when I create a "Password Change Menu".

Re: User Registration / Password change
No you have not. I will give you an example of step by step
Menu >>> Main menu >>> New >>> Menu item type ... Users ...'Password Reset'
Now that is step by step. Please do similar to show how you get to the screen that has the extra options.
